Halo Chat uses explicit input actions so you can choose exactly what to do next: analyze a webpage URL, upload files, or insert saved assets from your Asset Library. These actions appear on the main Halo Chat page (/assistant). When you open Halo Chat inside a Halo Studio tool, the side panel uses a simplified text-only composer without the action row.
Action Row Overview
In the full-width chat composer, the action row gives you three clear options:
- Analyze Webpage: Paste a URL and let Halo extract/analyze page content with your brand context
- Upload Files & Media: Attach image, document, audio, or video files for context
- Insert from Asset Library: Attach a saved asset by reference without re-uploading it
When to Use Each Action
| Need | Best Action |
|---|---|
| Launch a full Halo Studio workflow | Open Halo Studio from the sidebar |
| Break down a competitor page or article URL | Analyze Webpage |
| Give Halo a local file or media reference | Upload Files & Media |
| Reuse a saved asset from your library | Insert from Asset Library |
Using Actions
Use actions directly from the input row:
Pick Analyze Webpage, Upload Files & Media, or Insert from Asset Library depending on your goal.
For Analyze Webpage, paste a URL. For Upload Files, attach local files. For Insert from Asset Library, pick a saved asset.
Halo keeps the context in your active thread so you can follow up, refine, or hand off to tools.
Action Behavior Details
- Analyze Webpage validation: Analyze Webpage accepts public HTTP/S URLs and is designed for readable web pages (HTML/text). Login walls, blocked hosts, unsupported content types, or timeouts can cause extraction errors.
